This morning, there was a fire drill at UMass Lowell. Sarita Bassil teaches her 40-50 students about programming languages on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 11:00 a.m. until 11:50 a.m. Eastern Time. Today, at 11:31 a.m., the fire alarm went off and she and her students immediately and quickly left the building. They took the stairs, instead of the elevator. The students and educators remained outside in the warm September weather for three minutes, and then walked back into the building.
